Politecnico di Torino
June 25, 2012 – June 28, 2012
SIMAI 2012, hosted by the Politecnico of Torino brought together more than 250 researchers and professionals in applied analysis, mathematical modeling and scientific computing to promote and stimulate interdisciplinary research in applied mathematics and to foster interactions of the scientific community with industry.
Six plenary lectures covered a wide range of topics, varying from financial mathematics, numerical modeling, scientific computing, applied analysis to interdisciplinary subjects such as computational biology. They were complemented by an extensive program of more than 50 minisimposia that covered most of the many diverse areas and applications of applied mathematics to industry, technology, environment, cultural heritage, biology and society. Furthermore, a focus session and a round table on Mathematics and Industry were an important opportunity for a focussed discussion on a novel approach to industrial R&D.
About 220 communications were delivered by more than 200 scientists from Italy and all over the world. The detailed SIMAI 2012 scientific program booklet can be found here, and the conference book of abstracts can be downloaded at this link.
